Growth of new denominations

The first known group of Seminarians was got together by St. Basil of Ancyra. The term dropped out of popular usage in the Middle Period, when most spiritual training was in religious residencies, and later, in the universities. After the Reformation and the growth of new denominations, Seminaries once more came into use, especially in the USA. The 16th-century Council of Trent dictated Theology seminaries to be opened up in every territory.In several countries, the term seminary college is also applied for secular schools of higher learning that teach teachers. While the responsibility of the teaching Seminaries and theology seminaries is dissimilar, the terminology has not shifted. Throughout the 19th century in America, iTunes U seminary Seminaries educated women for the only socially satisfactory job: teaching. Only unmarried women could be teachers. Many early women’s colleges started as seminaries and created an important corps of educators.
