About Kashan Rugs

Kashan is a city in Persia (now known as Iran). The rugs which are woven in the city are referred to as Kashan rugs. Curvilinear patterns are the most common type of patter which can be found in these rugs. Medallions of diamond and lobed shape with beautiful floral pendants are some of the most popular designs. The most popular colors of these rugs are navy, rich red, beige and ivory. The other colors which are used in these rugs are beige, white, brown, ocher, red, blue and turquoise. Each design of Kashan rugs is unique and exclusive as in case of other Persian rugs.
