What Happens to a Peroneal tendon dysfunction
The tendons on the outside of the foot are what we called the peroneal tendons. The muscles on the outside of the leg that are attached to those tendons are the muscles, peroneus longus and peroneus brevis. To make the leg stay balanced on top of the foot and to roll the foot inwards or to stop the foot rolling outwards are the role of the muscles. In some sports, such as football, tennis and basketball those muscles are made to work really hard with all the side to side motion. As a result there can be overuse injuries to the tendons and muscles and sometimes a condition known as peroneal tendon dysfunction can occur.
