When it comes to fat loss nutrition, knowing what macronutrients are is very important. There are three macronutrients: proteins, carbohydrates and fats. They are vital for helping the body burn fat and build muscle and the best way to get results is to use the right macronutrient ratio. Simply put, a macronutrient ratio is the expression of the relationship between the amount of protein, carbohydrates and fats that you consume on a daily basis as part of your total caloric intake.
While there is no perfect macronutrient ratio, suggested ratios include having a daily fat consumption of 20%, a 35% protein intake and 45% of daily carbohydrate intake.
