Breast cancer and its stages
Breast cancer affects millions of women every year and their loved ones as well. When a woman gets a diagnosis of breast cancer, the shock is brutal. She then has to go under extended testing to make sure that she does not have breast cancer metastatic. The treatment will differ greatly if a woman has localized breast cancer as compared to if her cancer has spread to other organs.
When a breast cancer is metastatic, often chemotherapy will be offered to try to kill the cancerous distant cells and prolong life. At one point, there might be a decision to make treatments aimed at making the patient comfortable.
