A Patch in the Attic
It was our dream home. Lovely and serene on a cul-de-sac, we envisioned our future children riding bicycles and rollerskating around the circle. We spent 30 happy years there before Gary started noticing some shortness of breath. He went to the doctor, assuming it was bronchitis and got a shocking diagnosis. We had asbestos in the attic the entire time we lived there. The children and I rarely ventured there, but Gary was the one that retrieved stored items. Since he had the most exposure, he was the victim. We are filing a Mesothelioma claim right away and the asbestos has been removed.
