Is the method of cooking brown rice the same as cooking long grain rice?
As brown rice has a hard outer layer it takes more time to cook it than long grain rice. So for brown rice follow these steps.• Add 3 cups of cold water to a cup of brown rice and bring the water to boil.• Once the water starts boiling reduce heat and cook for 30-45 minutes.• When the rice becomes tender drain excess of water if present and cook for another 3 minutes in low heat. Stir it occasionally to get non sticky rice.Use brown rice often in your diet as it is more nutritious than white rice. The brown rice has the bran content intact. So it is rich in fiber compared to white rice.
