10/31 FAFSA Provides Opportunities for Students to Receive Grants, Loans
Both of my parents were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go to college. Their parents could not afford to send them, though, so it was important for both of them to be able to take out loans to pay for their tuition each year. They understood this process very well, so they were able to explain it to me and help me fill out all the forms properly. They told me that I would have to fill out the FAFSA to receive a financial aid statement from my school, which would give me opportunities for grants and loans. I was able to get subsidized loans, but I did not receive any grants from the government. I was able to pay for all of my tuition by myself between subsidized and unsubsidized government loans, which would keep my interest rates lower whenever I began to pay back the student loans.
