Yesterday was My Son’s 3rd birthday, and Shirley organised a big party. There were puppet-show boxes and finger puppets for children to take home as presents for their parents, bunting sewed by Shirley’s mum.

There were all kinds of foods, arranged in their containers on the tablecloth. There was a neat craft table with scissors, glitter glue, tape, crayons, pompoms, and all sorts of other crafting goodies for the kids to use.The invitations had mentioned that anyone who wore a fancy dress costume would get a prize.

I Shirley with the puppet theater. She said she needed boxes for the show and since we had a few  leftover from the house move, I offered to bring them and help her  for the afternoon.

I have always wanted to have a different eye color.  After reading Twilight, I became so jealous of the way the vampires’ eyes were described that I had to find a way to look like them.  I looked on the Internet, and I found twilight contact lenses!  Now I can have gorgeous eyes, just like the vampires in the book.  I ordered the contacts as soon as I found them.  They should be arriving in the mail soon.  I can’t wait to try them on, and see how I look will a different eye color.  No more boring eyes for me!  Soon I will have the most beautiful eyes in town.

Some people have religion. For other people, it’s their family life. But for me, the thing that gives me the most meaning in life is art.

I mean this sincerely: when I look at a beautiful painting or sculpture, all of the negative things in the world suddenly no longer seem so bad, and it all just makes a little more sense to me.

If you sometimes feel a void in your life, try visiting a really good art gallery. It may sound kind of simplistic or stupid, but it really works for me.

One of my hobbies is collecting celebrity calendars.  Every year I buy several new ones to add to my collection.  It is difficult to find calendars with pictures of deceased celebrities, so you can imagine my excitement when I spotted 2010 Marilyn Monroe Calendars in a local book store.  I usually find the best Marilyn Monroe memorabilia online or at collectors’ shows.  In addition to Marilyn, I found calendars featuring Clark Gable, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Ben Rothliesberger, Miley Cyrus, and the cast of “Twilight”.  You can see that the subjects of my calendar collection are a diverse group and they do not have to be dead to be included in my collection.  Eventually they will be worth a lot of money, but I don’t plan on selling them any time soon.           

Singing is not a talent that one is born with – it has to be learned or acquired. Learning how to sing will definitely go  a long way in helping you become a better singer but of course, being endowed with a nice voice is a plus. Singing is a special form of performing art and it has to be perfected, just like every other art in the world. When you are first learning how to sing, there are several things that you need to know like standing straing, right breathing methods and right posture. If you seriously want to improve your voice, pitching and articulation, getting a great vocal teacher definitely helps a lot. All of this will help you significantly in your singing progress.

Our family loves to sing Christian hymns and play uplifting music. We quite often go up in the canyon for family spiritual retreats, and I wanted to learn how to play the guitar, so that I could take my musical instrument with us on these outings, and have the guitar as accompaniment. I needed to find some good lessons on the web that I could learn from, and ones that would fit around my busy schedule. That is when I found the delightful worship guitar lessons, whose online videos afforded me the option of taking lessons when ever I could access them, which are perfect for my life style.

When we moved to a new city recently we were looking for a new congregation to join and were surprised by some of the modern church furnishings we encountered a various churches. While some still had the typical church pews, another had very modern, sleek-looking seating rows, fully padded on both the seat and back. Another just had a collection of “portable” but comfortable (and padded) chairs that could be arranged any which way. Most unique was a church that had a pulpit in the center of what looked like a giant carpeted conversation pit, with tons of pads and pillows.

Hawaiian tattoo designs are very cool, with lots of different choices and ideas. I really like one my friend got while she was on vacation in Honolulu. She was staying in a really pretty hotel which was surrounded by a garden, and the hibiscus flowers were everywhere. She decided to get a small and elegant hibiscus flower on her ankle and it’s so cute! Other ideas for Hawaiian tattoo designs are something emblematic of surfing, the ocean, or the sun. Anything that is reminiscent of beautiful island culture is a definite plus. Many people really enjoy their tattoos, as they are carefree, vibrant, and pleasant!
