Today I had a great jam session with my friend Dennis. Dennis plays guitar and I play bass. We met up in our special rehearsal spot that we rent from some friends. We often play covers, but lately we’ve been writing our own music. Writing our own stuff has been really exciting. When we’re not playing, we’re usually talking about gear, or looking it up online. Today Dennis was doing some research on the peavey guitar center. Both Dennis and I play Peavey instruments, so we really do have a respect for the company. If all goes well we’re going to start jamming with a drummer next month.

After we got engaged last month, my fiance and I are now in the process of interviewing Chicago photographers for our upcoming wedding.  Thank goodness for the internet!  How convenient is it to just click on a web link and check out a photographer’s portfolio?  I’m trying to imagine how much time it use to take to go out and meet with people and view their work.  At least now you can eliminate companies right away and just focus on the best of the bunch.  Now we can use the extra time to plan the rest of the wedding!

Last year I rented a car, and I was so busy trying to figure out all the buttons and levers that I couldn’t adjust the radio. There was some music on that I didn’t ordinarily listen to, and as the drive went on, I realized that I liked it. It was a jazzmusic station, and as soon as I got to my hotel I found the same station on the radio in my room. Ever since then, I have been trying out new artists and going to different shows. This is now my favorite kind of music, and I hope to start listening to the legendary performers soon.
