Should You Put Your Home Mortgage Refinancing Plans on Hold?

If you are looking to refinance your home mortgage and doing the required online research to check interest rates and home value information, a question may pop up in your head.  Should I refinance now, or wait for a better opportunity down the road?

Most likely, your internal debate will be centered upon two major points.  Home mortgage refinance rates are at all-time lows, but home prices are deteriorating across the country and could ruin your refinancing plans if your home appraises for less than what you think it’s worth.  To make matters even more difficult, the free online home valuation websites are proving to be more difficult to relay upon, and often show vastly different value results among different sites.  If you are in a 6.5 percent or higher interest rate and have a lot of equity in your home, enough to give leeway against a lower than anticipated home appraisal, then your home mortgage refinancing plans should be given the green light.
