How I Attained Fulfilment in My Time as a History Teacher
History has always interested me, and from my schooling days, it has been the intellectual discipline that has been closest to my heart. My time as a history teacher, a job tamworth was therefore one of the best experiences of my life. While it is was a pleasure to pursue what I loved as my vocation of choice, the fulfilment of imparting knowledge made the experience immeasurably valuable. What I loved most was challenging kids to approach issues with a fresh perspective, appealing to their imagination and historical insight in order to see weighty episodes such as the Cold War or World War Two from different viewpoints. By the end of the semester, kids left with the ability to apply what they had learned in the historical classroom to current affairs and even to the trials and tribulations of their personal lives. I distinctly remember ending that phase of my career feeling that I had affected the lives of my students, having taught them to derive lessons from history in a way that has greatly benefitted my life and that will greatly benefit theirs.
